Advices for snowboarders

Some advices befor you go ...

• We would advice private lessons be of at least two hours duration.  This will allow you to discover the area as well as benefit more from the teaching.
• If you are an experienced boarder we will be able to take you off-piste during your lesson.  We will also help you discover the undiscovered!
• Instructors specializing in free-style boarding will be able to help you develop your technique.
• We advice beginners to wear wrist protectors.
• Make sure you know which way you ride the board.  In general, a right footed boarder (left foot forward) is known as ‘a regular’ and a left footed boarder (right foot forward) as ‘Goofy’.

The Snowboard classes

The groups are made according your level and your age.

Group lessons are available throughout the Christmas/New year, February and Easter French School holidays. Adult classes (from 16 years old) are held in the morning whilst children’s classes (from 10 years old) are held in the afternoon.
The meeting spot is by the kinder garden, at the top of the grand massif express lift.

With classes limited to 9 people you will discover the great feeling you get when boarding!

Snowboard classes  (6 half days)  only : 120.00 Euros

Times for adults:
Christmas and new year holidays: 9.30 to 11.45 am
February holidays : 10 to 12.15 pm
Easter holidays: 9.30 to 12 pm

Times for children :
Christmas and new year holidays: 2 to 4.30 am
February holidays: 3 to 5.15 am
Easter holidays: 9.30 to 12 pm

  Contents of the group lessons:

Beginners : To discover and move with the liking of various settings in situation, according to your motivations and of the needs for the progression.
Intermediates (first and second surf) : Perfecting your technique and learning different types of surfing :free-ride, carving, flat etc…
Experts (Third surf and over): Free style, Free carve: Ride freely and in safety. Through the week you can perfect your jumps at the Grand Massif Snow Park, board at high speed, get off the beaten track and go for some off piste. Your instructor will encourage you to try all types of pistes to leave the beaten paths...

Determine your level in Snowboarding

Beginner: I have never attempted to snow board before

the 1st surf: I have snowboarded before and can execute basic turns (front and backside) on green and blue runs.

the 2nd surf: I snowboard in turns on blue and red track

the 3rd surf: I snowboard on black and red runs.

Expert surf: I have got my "3rd surf", I do short turns on steep slopes, I know how to reproduce turns imposed by the instructor. I go free styling and free riding and i want to improve it.
