Private lessons

The ski instructor of your choice will focus on your particular needs for all disciplines.

We can organise your lessons with fully qualified instructors who speak English, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch.

The Ski School operates two tariffs for private lessons: promotional hours and others hours.

Lessons take place every day, even on Sundays!

The meeting point for private cross-country skiing lessons is situated in front of the Ski School chalet in Samoëns village. For downhill skiing, snowboard and all other activities please meet at the top of the "Grand Massif Express".

Reservations can be made at the Ski School Offices in Samoëns Village, Samoëns 1600m. Please note that only lessons that have been paid for will be considered as booked.

Apart from the February school holidays you can make your reservations by telephone and pay by using a credit card.

Booking a ski or snowboard Instructor

It is possible for individuals, families or groups of friends to book an instructor for a half-days or full days.

Whether you are skiing or snowboarding, this is a great way to discover new ski areas (France, Switzerland or Italy) and to work out routes round the mountains. With your personal instructor you are able to organize your skiing day yourself free from the usual lesson time constraints.

 You can reserve full days or a half days. During February school holidays we would ask for a minimum of 5 consecutive days.

Group lessons

80% of our instructors speak English !!

Ski classes
(Limited to 12 pupils) Children and adults Alpine skiing
1 meeting point: Top of the Grand Massif Express, by the kinder garden

Snowboard classes
(Limited to 9 pupils) Children and adults

1 meeting point for all Snowboard classes: By the kinder Garden, near the beginners slopes, Samoens 1600. Adults and children (from 10 years old) are held in the afternoon. All participants in group lessons are automatically registered in the award system unique to the French Ski School.
For the duration of the lesson and in the company of the instructor, all groups are given priority at the ski lifts.

Bookings

By making an early reservation you will be sure to have the instructor of your choice at a time convenient to you. You will of course avoid queuing at the ski school on your arrival.

• From the beginning of November you can write to the Ski School, to reserve your personal instructor. Go to the booking page, select the type of reservation you want to make and fill in the form. Email it to us and then call us for confirmation and payment with your credit card.
  Only reservations that have been paid for will be considered as booked.

Advices for the pupils of the ski school

The correct operation of the lessons depends on the instructor, but also on you...  

Arrive at the meeting point in advance of your lesson time. Please plan for the inevitable lift queues, especially during the school holiday periods.

Advices for the pupils of the ski school

• The correct operation of the courses depends on the instructor, but also on you.
• Arrive on time at the places of gathering, by envisaging possible waiting with the ski lifts.
• The participation in a course of ski does not exclude a certain autonomy from the pupil and does not place it, for the exercise requested, in the narrow dependence of the monitor.
• The pupil must take care personally of his own security and that of the thirds.
• The pupils are not ensured by the ESF.
• To avoid the risks and financial troubles of an accident, we advise you to take the " carte neige SAMOËNS " with the ESF.
• The atmospheric conditions, the ski lifts breakdowns or other incidents cannot be ascribable with the instructors.
• No request for refunding will be taken into account.

And specially for the parents

• Do not over-estimate its standard of skiing.

• To listen carefully to what you say. If you feel frightened or don't feel like going skiing today, or if you are hungry or thirsty, tell your parents. They will reassure you or help you; skiing should be fun.

• Slip into their pockets: card of course, card of ski lifts (free for under 5 years old with proof of age), handkerchiefs.
• Equip them warmly.
• Do not follow them during the course and avoid challenging them.
• Do not carry out yourself the change of class, only the monitors are entitled to do it.
• Arrive on time at the gathering point and especially do not forget to pick up your child at the end of the course. If you had any problems with the links, inform the ESF.
